Welcome everyone!  Thanks for joining us as we begin a 5-part series for new leaders or more experienced leaders looking to fill some gaps in your knowledge.  We have experienced project directors joining us to navigate the most important 21st CCLC rules and guidance so that you get off to a good start with your grant this year.  Come ready to ask all your most vexing questions!

To prepare for this session:
1.  Find and review your grant proposal, paying attention to your goals, activities, and proposed outcomes
2.  If you’d like to get ahead, visit Y4Y Learn—Courses—Introduction to 21st CCLC and begin the course.  It will introduce you some key concepts.

If you don’t have time to prepare, don’t worry!  We’ll get you up to speed. Looking forward to working with you!

Welcome to the New Leaders Academy!  I’m Sarah Brightwell, one of the facilitators for this exciting webinar series.  I am a former junior high English teacher who has worked in 21st CCLC for over fourteen years.  I’ve been an instructor, site coordinator, and project director in both rural and urban school districts.  Now I have the pleasure of working with 21st CCLC programs across the nation!

We’d love to get to know more about you too!  Please post an introduction and bit about yourself as we grow our network of 21st CCLC peers.

Ah, discussion boards! I am back in university! Lol. I am glad to get the chance to connect with so many others working with 21st CCLCs. I feel a bit isolated and lost at times. My strengths are planning and designing interesting curriculum and developing strong working relationships with school staff and partners. My weaknesses are getting the parents involved and anticipating what will bring parents to the table.

I am the Director and Coordinator for Pinnacle Charter School’s 21st CCLC Grant.
I muddled through last year and am thrilled for more help and guidance on how to be an effective director. I was just glad to figure out EZ reports last year! We are in Colorado - my Grant runs 4 activities: before and after school tutoring, STEM Club, Adult English classes, and expanded library hours.
Looking forward to more collaboration!

Hello!
I am thankful for the opportunity to participate in the webinars!  I know that we will gain much knowledge from the field of 21st CCLC staff and the facilitators.
I am a project director from Columbia, SC where, in my public school district, we are blessed to have seven 21st CCLC grants.
