Recently the Y4Y team met with a great group of practitioners in Connecticut who shared some of their family involvement ideas. They included:
Staff basketball game- staff played a game against each other with students providing the half time entertaiment and the admission fees served as a fundraiser for the program;
“Everybody Eats Rice” potluck with grades k-1 as judges;
Memorial Day Cookout with personal invitations;
Coupon Club, including a trip to a local grocery store and a meeting with a nutritionist.
