A very KINETIC NASA live chat
Afternoon fellow 21st CCLC programs,
Our students participated in their very first live chat with a Mechanical Engineer from Glenn Research Center on Tuesday, January 3rd. They learned about his work with the Orion vehicle through informative visual slides and videos. Although the students were initially nervous at first they opened up with interesting questions. Each child wrote down at least two questions to ask the NASA engineer.
They asked about how to prevent CEV’s from crashing on reentry, how do the astronauts bathe, and did the engineer know any astronauts in addition to the all important question of how they use the bathroom. The engineer inquired of their progress with the CEV challenge, gave feedback and shared some videos related to questions they asked as well.
All in all it was a great experience for the Engineering Design Challenge teams and a great job by the technical support and the video chat host. We look forward to doing another video chat in the future.
