The American Rescue Plan Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ARP ESSER) Fund, or ESSER III, is the U.S. Department of Education’s portion of the American Rescue Plan (ARP) Act of 2021. ARP ESSER provides a total of nearly $12 billion to states and school districts to help safely reopen and sustain the safe operation of schools and address the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the nation’s students. What does this mean for 21st Century Community Learning Centers? While each state and local education agency (LEA) will disburse funds differently, there are a variety of ways in which 21st CCLC programs can engage in and support recovery efforts. In this You for Youth (Y4Y) Technical Assistance webinar, we will provide a primer on ARP ESSER, share how one LEA is leveraging 21st CCLC programs and discuss logistical and operations details - such as blending and braiding funds - that programs should currently consider.
