New Leaders Virtual Academy
The U.S. Department of Education's Y4Y Technical Assistance team presented a series of five webinars to support new program leaders. The webinars will present a logical process to design and develop a high-quality program. Each session, participants heard directly from experienced program leaders who have designed successful, high-quality 21st CCLC programs! Leaders spoke to the benefits of using an implementation planning tool to guide program development, and all participants received planning tools along with tips and advice from fellow practitioners. Join this session with a copy of your grant and get help to navigate the important rules, regulations and guidance you need to stay in compliance and get off to a good start. Experienced project directors will share their best advice about expenditures, stakeholder engagement and evidence-based practices. Come ready to ask all your most urgent questions!

The experienced project directors who lead the session will provide advice and answers to your questions. You will also be introduced to the Y4Y Project Planner, a tool that can document and guide work.
To build on your basic understanding and get off to a good start, join this session to explore the first steps to planning and designing your program. You will get guidance and strategies you can immediately use to recruit program planning team members, conduct a comprehensive needs assessment, write program SMART goals and plan for logistics. Expert practitioners will also introduce you to the Y4Y Implementation Planner, a tool that will help you track all your plans.
Do you want to make sure your program impacts student outcomes? Join this session, and experts will help you understand how to use your needs assessment data to design activities that teach the knowledge and skills students need to master, and provide opportunities for students to practice the knowledge and skills in real-life, relevant, engaging ways.
