Questions to Support Student Exploration

It’s important to keep student voice “front and center” as you facilitate a makerspace or any problem-solving activity. You can do this by providing choice, giving opportunities to explore, and sharing leadership roles. One useful strategy is to ask open-ended questions that allow students to discover instead of offering instructions or explicitly providing answers. The following “question starters” can support and deepen student learning in a makerspace.
